The moment has come to begin tracking "Anchors Aweigh" at Kampo Studios in Manhattan. Jamie Candiloro and Dror Mohar are out from L.A. to produce/engineer this record.
In memory of Hobo, we ventured North to Pulaski, NY to play at the Flower Harvest Music Festival. We met some new friends from the long road there, happy travels to you!
We stopped over in Richmond for some natural food, what a nice town. Note to blog, come back soon. We were figuring out how to leave and asked a man for directions. He was likely a paranoid schizophrenic and quickly rode his bike away from our scary white van. It was in front of a Scientology center, coincidence? In Chapel Hill we met some wonderful people at Toots and Magoo, a beautiful art / antique shop. They were having an opening and we browsed and chatted. Xo. The Cave was filled with sound, the echoes ringing through the stalactites. Many thanks to the friends we made, we look forward to seeing you soon! Onward.
I stepped in a snowbank up to my knee and my sneakers were soaked. The van has these heating vents by your feet, and boy do they soothe your soles. I let my mind wander and the Rolling Thunder Revue punched me in the guts, “Throw my ticket in the wind!”
The day before the work week, we brought music to the air at Public Assembly in Brooklyn alongside friends Tim Williams and Holler Wild Rose. It was a psychadelic trip down memory lane and back. Holler brought their scarf, Tim brought new songs, and Simon was thirsty. Thanks to the many friends who made it out and danced the cold away.
Last night we performed at Pianos to a packed house in celebration of our recent release, Night of Criminals. Phonograph shook the house with a powerful performance. There were air guitars a plenty coming from the crowd. We subdued the pressure with some banjo waltzes. Crazy kids were kissing and swaying, oh the memories!
Baker Camp is a magical place just outside of New York City in Harriman State Park. The band frequently camps on the campground there, on the beautiful Lake Sebago. We packed up the instruments and jammed on the porch.
We played at the Bowery along with The Soundscapes and Bailterspace. The sun was shining and it felt good to be kings for an evening. Thank you Gig Lizzy for booking us and thanks to all our friends that came out and supported us. We’re looking forward to making Bowery our regular dig!
